International Women in Engineering Day
Today is international women in engineering day. International Women in Engineering Day is celebrating its 8th year in 2021. Brought to you by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), INWED is an international awareness campaign which raises the profile of women in engineering and focuses attention on the amazing career opportunities available to women and girls in this exciting industry.
This year’s theme is ENGINEERING HEROES: profiling the best, brightest and bravest women in engineering, who recognise a problem, then dare to be part of the solution; who undertake everyday ‘heroics’ as much as emergency ones.
Geosynthetics Ltd have our own reason to celebrate this day. Our engineering team consists of our own engineering heroes who display everyday heroics within the Geosynthetics Ltd office. Thank you to both our Principal Engineer Patricia Guerra-Escobar and Design Engineer Rozhan Saeed.
These two women support our customers on a daily basis providing value-engineered solutions for projects with a range of applications and site requirements working on some renown projects within the industry and always offering our customers the best solution for them.
Patricia is also the chair of the IGS UK Chapter. The aims of the IGS UK chapter are to collect and distribute knowledge about geosynthetics & their applications by facilitating conferences, symposiums, evening presentations & research in order to promote the advancement of the state of the art of geosynthetics & to improve the communication and understanding of geosynthetic products between designers, manufacturers and users of the products.
