Rain or Shine banked on a late rally led by Gian Mamuyac and Anton Asistio to fend off a struggling TNT squad, 106-100, in the 2023 PBA On Tour on Wednesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Tropang Giga garnered some momentum with Glenn Khobuntin sending them to a five-point lead before Asistio and Shaun Ildefonso tied things up at 94-all courtesy of a 5-0 run.

Mamuyac then allowed Rain or Shine to steal the lead back, 96-94, as Asistio unleashed back-to-back baskets for a crucial 102-98 cushion in the final minute. TNT big man Dave Marcelo trimmed that deficit to 102-100 but Santi Santillan finished the job through a huge triple with 37 ticks left, 105-100.

Mamuyac led Rain or Shine with a double-double outing of 21 points and 10 rebounds laced with five assists and four steals while Asistio shone off the bench with 16 markers as they improved to 6-1.

TNT, on the other hand, remained winless with a 0-7 card despite getting solid performance from Khobuntin, who poured in 24 points, 15 rebounds, three steals, one assist, and one block in the loss.

Earlier, Alvin Pasaol lit up from deep to tow Meralco to a 96-83 victory against NLEX and back-to-back wins in the off-season tournament.

The former University of the East standout exploded for seven three-pointers to finish with 25 points alongside five rebounds in almost 20 minutes of action to help the Bolts improve to 6-3. The Road Warriors, on the other hand, halted their two-game winning streak to drop to 3-5.

Raymond Almazan helped the cause with 12 points and eight rebounds while Allein Maliksi and Diego Dario chipped in 11 markers apiece.
