Congratulations and Good Luck
In 2015 Geosynthetics Ltd welcomed its second recipient of our Student Development Award, Doug Morley.
After working two weeks with us in 2015 Doug took up his place at Loughborough University to study for a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Each summer Doug returned to our office to complete a four week placement as a member of our engineering department as well as regularly visiting us when home from university. Within his time with Geosynthetics Ltd Doug quickly established himself as a recognised and valuable member of the team, contributing to and completing a variety of different projects.
Doug however, is currently completing his final placement with the company as he has graduated from Loughborough University and is now completing a 4 year PhD at the University of Cambridge, in association with Highways England. His research will be involving the use of geosynthetic products in bridge abutment design.
On his time here, Doug said ‘My time at Geosynthetics Ltd has been hugely rewarding. The combination of summer internships, annual bursaries and overall support offered throughout the student development award has undoubtedly shaped my civil engineering pathway. Geosynthetics Ltd provides the perfect environment for young engineers to put theory into practice and grow into the great profession of civil engineering. I am hugely thankful to the Geo team for all of the time spent in getting me to the point that I am at now, and wish them all the very best for the future.’
All at Geosynthetics Ltd would like to thank Doug for his time spent with the company and we all wish him the best of luck for the future.
